Iu Mien Community Services (IMCS) - Sacramento, CA

Throughout the winter season, Iu Mien Community Services (IMCS) has hosted vaccine clinics for its community members to protect themselves and their loved ones against illness and disease. These clinics are essential to connecting vulnerable community members to health services and community-focused events. IMCS has more vaccine clinics this spring, and you can stay updated here. These vaccine clinics are made possible through the support of USAging’s Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative.

The vaccine clinics have taught me that the community I serve are missing out on a lot of education and services. Many do not know what vaccine they have already received or go years without it because no one takes them to get vaccinated. The diversity in California makes it hard for all individual groups to be seen. However, forming and being a part of a Southeast Asian focused coalition helps the little voices be heard and helps our small organization and ethnic group become visible.
